Pricing, Booking Process and Terms

To book a hire session, training courses or our custom printing service, please Contact us and read our booking process and terms below. We are very happy to provide a voucher if you wish to provide our services as a gift.

Darkroom Hire: £35 per half-day session

£55 for a full-day session in one booking

Film Processing Course: £180.00 (half-day)

Print-craft Course: £180.00 (half-day)

Film Processing and Print-craft courses in a day: £320.00

Hand Made Printing Service: POA.

Materials Purchase: 5% handling charge

Photographic materials including film, paper, chemicals and darkroom accessories are for sale online. We can purchase photographic materials such as paper and chemicals for you but have to add a small handling charge of 5% for this service. For example, a £30 cost including postage, packing and VAT from the supplier would cost you £31.50 including VAT if we purchase it for you.

All our prices include VAT at 20%. Half-day hire is 4 hours. Full-day hire is 8 hours. Please review our booking process and terms before ordering. If you wish to provide Yateley Darkroom services as a gift, please let us know when booking, and we will send you a voucher.

Booking Process and Terms

  • We are open 9am until 6pm, normally 7 days a week. A half-day hire is up to 4 hours; either morning, 9am-1pm or afternoon, 2pm-6pm. A full-day hire is up to 8 hours, 9am-6pm. Evening sessions can be arranged by appointment.

  • Please contact us by phone or email. For training courses or Darkroom hire we will agree a date and time with you and send you a confirmation email.

  • For print making from your own negatives, we will agree a price with you and confirm by email. We will agree options (e.g. size and mounting), price and an approximate delivery time by email. Prints are hand-made in our Darkroom, specially for you.

  • Quoted print prices include packing and postage to a UK postcode. If you are non-UK, please let us know and we will make an additional charge for shipping. Alternatively save on P&P by collecting your print(s) in person.

  • For training courses, we ask for a 50% deposit upon confirmation and the balance paid the week before the course commences. Online bank-transfer is most convenient and full details will be provided to you in the confirmation email. For darkroom hire, we will accept the full amount due the week before or on the day before you use the Darkroom.

  • For custom print making, we ask for a 50% deposit on confirmation and the balance due upon delivery of the print(s).

  • Access to our Darkroom is conditional upon the full amount being paid in advance.

  • Payment is normally made to us by electronic bank transfer in advance. Your confirmation email will contain our banking details. However we can also accept a cheque or cash. We currently do not accept cards.

  • If for any reason we need to postpone your Darkroom session, we will contact you and arrange an alternative date and time. Likewise, if for any reason you need to postpone your session, please do contact us to arrange an alternative date and time. Testing positive for Covid-19 is a very good reason for either of us to postpone.

  • If for any reason we have to cancel your session, we will refund to you all monies so far paid. If for any reason you have to cancel your session, up to 7 days before the agreed date we will refund your deposit. After that time we are normally unable to refund your deposit.

  • If you are booked to use the Darkroom but do not show up without prior notice, you will still be liable for the full amount due.

  • Users under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible person over 18 years old.

  • For Darkroom hire, you may have another person with you at no additional cost.

  • Users of the Darkroom do so entirely at their own risk whether undergoing training or hiring the facility.

    Yateley Darkroom and its parent company Phiphase Limited will not be held liable under any circumstances.

  • Please use the equipment and chemicals responsibly and use the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment provided. All users will receive health & safety training on their first visit.

  • Please report all accidents, equipment/material damage and chemical spills however minor immediately to Adrian Nash (contact).
